Ayatollah Taskhiri, head of Tehran-based International
organization for proximity of Muslim Schools of thought
stressed the need for unity in practical aspects of Islamic
teachings.
He was speaking at an International Conference on
"Muslim Unity Perspective and Difficulties" at the
International Islamic University of Islamabad. The
conference was jointly organized by the University
and the cultural consulate of the Islamic republic of
Iran in Pakistan.
"Although the whole human beings may not be able to
think on single agenda as it is quite natural to be there
some differences of opinion," Ayatollah Taskhiri said.
"The Muslim Ummah is entirely different from others,
as it is the only one in thinking on principles but it may
be different in views relating to petty issues," he said.
Ayatollah Taskhiri called upon the need of unity of ranks
and files of the Muslim Ummah to face the challenges in
the contem****ary world.
He added that there are ninety percent points giving edge
to the unity and there are only ten percent or so which are
being propagated by enemies of Islam for sowing seeds
of difference.
Taskhiri said that the Muslim Ummah as Sunnah and ****a
is one unit in the eyes of enemies who do not differentiate
between any followers of the Great Prophet (PBUH).
Speaking on the occasion, President of the University
Anwar Hussain Siddiqui paid tributes to Ayatollah Taskhiri
in particular and the Iranian leader****p in general for
promotion of the cause of the unity among Muslims.
Siddiqui pointed out that the International Islamic University
of Islamabad is also striving for creating unity of thought
among Muslims especially youth by imparting objective
oriented education.
He added that during last twenty eight years the university
has achieved a number of goals in academic fields and
now it has strength of over 12,500 students.
Pakistani scholars Khalid Masood and Anis Ahmad also
spoke on the need of the Muslim Ummah to thwart
conspiracies aimed at the very existence of the Ummah.
The Conference adopted a charter of the Muslim of the
Unity and a resolution against publication blasphemous
caricatures desecrating the the Islamic sanctities.
