The chief of Beirut's Municipal Council on Saturday
appreciated Iran's contribution support to Lebanon to
rebuild the devastation caused during 33-day invasion
of Israel in July-August 2006.
At a ceremony of launching construction operation of
several development projects in war-stricken areas in
Beirut, Said al-Khansa expressed his appreciation for
the Iranian government.
Hesam Khoshnevis, head of Iranian delegation to Lebanon,
said at the ceremony that Iran was in Lebanon immediately
after post-war days to help the Lebanese nation reconstruct
their country.
In the 33-day war, Israel martyred 1,000 Lebanese civilians.
They caused irreparable damage to Lebanon's infrastructure
requiring the friendly nations including Iran to help reconstruct
the war-devastated areas.
