Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said here Tuesday
that all Muslim leaders have the duty to counter enemy plots.
Speaking in a meeting with the new Secretary General of the
Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU) of the member states
of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Mahmoud
Erol Qlic here on Tuesday, Haddad-Adel said that fortunately
there are signs today that Muslim have awakened and Muslim
leaders have the duty to ensure continuation of the awakening
and prevent its diversion.
He said that as an international Islamic parliamentary body, the
IIPU can and should play a key role in bolstering unity and
countering division among Muslims.
He added that the Majlis is ready to expand cooperation with
the IIPU and wished success to the new head of the Union.
For his part, Qlic said that his Union needs Iranian Majlis'
assistance and cooperation.
He hoped that the Union will regain its actual status at the
international level.
