President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday highlighted
Iranian engineering capability.
He said, in a message to the fourth National Congress on
Civil Engineering, that the technical and scientific knowledge
and ability of the Iranian engineers and the engineering firms
are so high that they can easily compete at regional and
international scenes.
He added that the Iranian engineers and experts are currently
carrying out several development projects in foreign countries,
including construction of roads, dams, power plants, and housing.
They are also busy in different areas of upstream and downstream
oil industry and auto manufacturing in several foreign countries, the
president said.
President Ahmadinejad referred to the congress as the venue of
exchange of the latest scientific, technical and research achievements.
Appreciating efforts made by officials to hold such gatherings, he
stressed that the active presence of researchers and experts in
the congress would help further promote the country's scientific
and technical know-how.
The president further praised key role being played by experts
and engineers in development and progress of the Islamic Republic.
