It'll do stuff all since, like has been claimed by loads of others,
forcing
service stations to declare a price early removes any op****tunity for the
small vendors to react quickly to pricing changes forced on the large
chain
and oil company owned fuel outlets.
So while yes there is a benefit to making prices a bit less 'mysterious',
the end result will be higher prices for longer, and the smaller vendors
starting to go out of business.
That makes things better for Coles and Woolworths who buy their fuel at
far
less than the the terminal gate price and re-sell at the same rates the
fuel
companies set for company-owned outlets.
This leads into making even more profit for Coles and Woolworths from the
already-rigged 'loyalty discount' schemes.
