A face of protests, movements and of course Indian writing, Arundhati Roy
is
someone who has defined Indian literature with her eloquent style of
writing
and connecting with the common man. But with the latest addition to her
kitty of literary acclaim is her latest book 'The Shape of the Beast.'
While she has been watched on many channels for her fierce opinions on
large
variety of issues it is not any surprise that Arundhati has decided to
give
shape to her thoughts about myriad issue on Indian polity in her latest
edition. She strongly said, "Simultaneously with liberalization of India's
economy began the communalization of India's politics and its not a
coincidence."
The book traces a number of issues from the global war on terror to the
Kashmir issue to even the mass genocide in Gujarat. It is an amalgamation
of
areas deeply political and personal alike. With a demure release of her
latest edition contrary to her vocal public appearances only time will
tell
if this writing will silence her critics once again.
