They waited over a decade under the tories and all they
got was a regressive tax, the GST, which INCREASES AUTOMATICALLY
WITH INFLATION, even if their pension doesn't! 8^o

That may be your view, and the tories are clearly willing
to KEEP DECEIVING the poor old dears, and politically USING
them.. but the ALP re****t will be thorough and comprehensive,
and, within the constraints caused by the high inflation, high
interest rates and economic downturn they have inherited, they
will do what they can for pensioners.

By KEEPING PROMISES! It is so unusual after years of Lieberal
non-Core promises, "WMD's that threaten us all", "We will keep
interest rates at record lows" and EVEN NOW, in opposition, they
still make promises to grandstand about what they WILL DO IF WE
RELENT AND RE-ELECT THEM, and then cruelly disappoint the pensioners
by going back on their word!
> Aged pensioners didn't do that so they have to wait.
No, it's not 'revenge' or 'punishment'.. its YEARS OF NEGLECT!
The WHOLE TRANSFER PAYMENT SYSTEM needs to be reviewed after
a decade of tory inaction! That takes time and it is best done by
impartial, dispassionate, rational policy development based on
carefully ascertained facts, and given careful consideration.
It should be done before the Libs have replaced their leader, and
certainly before the next election. ;-)
