There is an interesting article about a nuclear missile base in
Lithuania:

The underground base was built around the time of the Cuban missile
crisis and the rockets were 2.3 megaton (in comparison the 'Little
Boy' that was dropped on Hiro****ma was 13-16 kilotons, a factor on the
order of 100 times less). The place was selected because of the
geographic location (the rockets were aimed at most European capitals,
including neutral countries at that time, e.g. Spain) and at the time
had few equals in the SU. It seems that this place in Samogitia
(Zemaitija) National Park near Plunge is a tourist attraction by now.
Continuing the nuclear theme, here is an interview with A. Brazauskas
re. new reactors in Lithuania and the Baltics.
