Or the Finnish internet mafia.
Saw the advertisement. Was thinking great.
So I went to the Elisa shop.
I had two options: Buy the modem and pay 120 Euro or make a 2 years
contract and pay 5 Euro for the modem per month plus the 15 Euro for a
1mb connection. Since this was not the first time I was changing
operator I was thinking " what could go wrong? ".
So I went home and installed the mokkula ( crap ) modem.
As it turned out it was 45 - 100 times slower them my former ADSL
connection ( 2mb in )
I went to youtube and it took 15 minutes of waiting time too look a one
minute 15 seconds long video. Tried the same thing 2 hours later with
Saunalahti and it took 15 seconds.
Went to nonags.com and wanted to download a 10 mb file. took 20 minutes
and when I had 99% of the file the contact broke.
Tried the same file the same evening with Saunalahti ADSL and it took 20
seconds.
So I went to Elisa the next and wanted to return the modem and cut the
contract.
NO FUCKING WAY. " YOU HAVE UNDERSIGNED A 2 YEARS CONTRACT!!
I was thinking " what the fuck? " this shit doesn't work!!
So I wrote to Elisa to 3 different places and after 3 weeks I got an
answer " sorry for the delay and I gave orders to terminate your
internet connection " and 2 days later I got a bill: 15,61 Euro. I paid
the money and was thinking " thank goodness its over ".
But no fucking way with Elisa.
5 weeks later I get a letter telling me that Elisa had some Internet
problems but that things will get better in the future and so they have
connected me back again to the Internet.
I wrote them that they cant connect me back without my permission and
that I sold my computer. That their service suck and I don't trust their
future promise. they said it will get better but at the same time
letting a door open by saying that " maximum speed can't always be
guarantied ".
Maximum speed my ass when instead of a speed of close to 100 kilo bytes
per second they deliver me only 1-2 kilo bytes per second.
Now I got a bill asking me to pay for the time my Internet was cut off =
5 weeks and the time after when they connected me without my permission.
Did some checking on the Internet and found many other Fins complening
about the same thing. People enjoying only a fraction of the speed Elisa
is promising and in some cases to Internet connection for weeks but
people are forced to pay.
