The above shit Elisa is selling.
It does not matter what contract you have with them.
One MB or 2 or less. You will get if you are lucky 25% of what your
paying for. As I said " if you are lucky ". For many people as it has
turned out they have a 1-10 percent of the download speed they are
paying for and since the advertisement of Elisa is great ( " the
peoples people " ) people trusted the company and its product. I my
self turned up with 1-2% of the speed I paid for. So I canceled the
contract which is possible but Elisa is requiring me to pay them for
the next 24 months even if I don't use their service. You have the
right to bring your modem back " for repair " but it's not the modems
fault its their servers and lines.
It took Elisa 3 weeks to cut my Internet off. I used their service
once one evening only. I got the bill I paid and got an email that
they put me offline. " Great " I was thinking. 5 weeks later I get a
letter stating: Our service will be better in the near future so there
is no reason to stop the contract. I have been putting you online
again 2 days ago. I complained to them that I don't want to be online
and that they can't put me back online without my permission. a few
weeks later I get the bill: I have to pay for the 5 weeks i have been
offline plus the 3 weeks where she put me on again and I don't use
their service. I removed their program and deleted the password and
when I asked way way back for a new passport from the Elisa shop the
sails person said to me: " There is no need since you want to stop
using our service ".
Now people are gathering up to do something against it.
You know " you have to honor your commitment ( 2 years contract ) but
they don't have to deliver.
It's like saying " you pay for the wine you ordered but not for the
wine you got ".
Elisa is then dishing bullshit out like: Maximum speeds are not always
possible and it depends on the net traffic bla bla. On some place they
admitted that getting 1/3 of the speed you ordered is " very normal ".
Well I got only 2% of the speed I ordered AND paid for it. I guess
Elisa is considering this " normal too ". Like having somebody pay for
a service he is not using and isn't working anyway.
There are customer protection agencies in Finland but they haven't got
the balls. Perhaps their competition would like to sponsor some bad
press against Elisa?
About Sonera a poster was saying that he switched from 2 MB Elisa to 1
MB Sonera. Which is much cheaper, twice the speed he got through
Elisa's 2 MB and more reliable. No laggings no cutoffs.
If you complain to Elisa you can wait 3-4 weeks for an answer.
Saunalahti always answered me within 3 days.
