Otto von Habsburg spoke a great truth: "I am often asked if I am a
republican or a monarchist. I am neither, I am a legitimist: I am for
legitimate government. You could never have a monarchy in Switzerland,
and it would be asinine to imagine Spain as a republic."
The traditional and legitimate relation****p between China and Tibet
was one of Tibetan spiritual supremacy and China's political
supremacy. Until the Chinese communist party recognizes the Dalia
Lama as having ultimate spiritual authority over Tibet and comes to an
accomodation with Buddhism (as say, the Russian Communist Party has
done with Orthodoxy) it has no legitimate claim over Tibet:
