What amazes me is that in junior competitions, Canada always finishes
1st, Russia - 2nd, and others never seem to be anywhere near. But when
it comes to Olympics played on neutral ice - Russia finishes 4th way
behind Sweden, Finland and Czech R, and Canada gets drubbed by
Switzerland and Russia and funishes 8th. Weird.
- yes, drubbed :) but you know how it goes... the question is: what have
you
done for me lately? this tourney speaks well for the young players who
will
be in the league soon.
since you mentioned the olympics, team canada has won gold as recently as
2002 (in both men's and women's). and since the next winter olympics are
going to be in my city, i just know that the russians will be claiming
biased refs on this "neutral ice". team russia is popular here as well.
i'll
bet that in the non-canada games they will get good crowd turn out.
btw, i may be in the crowd. you can try to guess which one is me. hint:
near
the zamboni entrance. i'll try to get up to see the biathlon too. traffic
will be **** though so who knows...
