Was it right not to fight? This discussion seems to pop up every now and 
then. I find it quite meaningless. The decision back in 1940 was taken 
based on facts and reality as perceived there and then. It may be that 
12 fallen Danish soldiers was a ridiculously modest sacrifice when the 
freedom of Denmark was at stake. Or that Konstantin Päts sold Estonia 
for nothing in return. But truth is that geography already had decided 
the fate of Balts and Danes: their countries were practically 
undefendable. What remains a mystery, however, is why Norway was so 
easily taken.
