The thing that infuriates the scb-squatting
russkies so much about E. Lucas is the fact
that he understands the Kremlin's (and thus
their) thought processes so well. He also
understands "Kremlin-speak" - just about
as well as Balts do.
As to the nazi bit - hell that is, after all, now
the russkie tag for Balts (and some other
"uncooperative" people).
Some time ago a Kremlin denizen read "Through
the looking glass" by Lewis Carroll and memorized
this line:
"When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather
scornful tone,' it means just what I choose it to mean,
neither more nor less."
It has been the guiding principle for russkie
communication with the outside world ever since.
One of the main problems today, as in the past,
is that all too many westerners don't understand
this quaint little russkie trait.
Best - - Henry
