The dates do overlap sometimes, but I doubt that there was any
intention to insult the Soviets. BTW, I recal the day for Victory
used to be 9th May, the article you posted says that the compaign
ended on the 8th. Has the Victory date been changed? Anyway, the
initiator of this campaign was Rimi (Norwegian supermarket chain).
They are not politicians - they are business. As soon as they
realised that it made some people upset - they've changed the dates.
Was it Peteris or John who pointed out that you don't have to do
anything to upset Russia? Whoever did - the comment was right.
