Three die of diarrhoea

At least three persons died in Dhaka and Lakshmipur and 2263
contracted diarrhoeal diseases on Monday, according to the health
services directorate general control room and the ICDDR,B.
The number of people dying of diarrhoeal diseases and such patients
is still on the rise after waterborne diseases rapidly spread across
the country because of contaminated water and humid weather.
One died of the disease and 626 received treatment at the
International Centre for Dia-rrhoeal Diseases Research, Bangladesh
hospital on Monday, according to the DGHS control room.
Noakhali topped the list with 195 patients, followed by Bhola with
119 patients, Feni with 110, Tangail with 93, Bogra with 90 and
Mymensingh with 81 admitted to public hospitals in 24 hours till
8:00am Monday, the control room said.
According to the control room, 19,396 people were treated in
hospital in the past week and seven of them died.
The United News of Bangla-desh reported that two had died of
diarrhoeal diseases at Charbasu of Kamalnagar in Lakshmipur. The
deceased were Panna Begum, 4, and Jamaluddin, 55.
Diarrhoea is a water-borne disease that weakens the body system
because of dehydration. Physicians ask such patients to take enough
pure water.
The Dhaka city people were the worst sufferers of the waterborne
diseases diarrhoea and jaundice as they need to drink and use stinking
and contaminated
