This aging doormat of Soniaji, who would gladly lick even
her spit, is not now in her good books. Why? He had the
temerity to not mention Prince Rahul in a good light.

WE RESPECT ARJUN SINGH, SAYS PM
Statesman, May 11
NEW DELHI, May 10: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today said the
Congress party respected human resource development (HRD) minister Mr
Arjun Singh ~ a remark aimed at defusing the controversy over the
veteran leader's comment that there was lack of participation in
decision-making within the party.
"He (Arjun Singh) is a senior leader and we respect him," Dr Singh
told reporters on the sidelines of an investiture ceremony at
Rashtrapati Bhavan. He was responding to questions from the media on
the minister's statement. Mr Arjun Singh, at a book release yesterday,
said: "Today, the evaluation of loyalty (in the Congress) is done in a
very narrow sense. The Nehru-Gandhi family knows who are the real
loyalists and those who are pretending to be so."
But Mrs Sonia Gandhi didn't seem to as accommodating as Dr Singh. Mr
Singh and the Congress president cold-shouldered each other at the
same Rashtrapati Bhavan event.
Knives are, meanwhile, expectedly out in Congress against Mr Singh.
Reacting to Mr Singh=92s statement in an interview, published in a book
on him that was released here last evening, that the =93decision-making=94
process in the Congress has now fallen into a =93bit of disarray=94
without effectively involving everybody, AICC general secretary Mr
Digvijay Singh ~ a former understudy of Mr Arjun Singh ~ both former
chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh ~ called it =93unfair=94. The party=92s
media department chief Mr Veerappa Moily saying it was =93not
appropriate=94 for a senior leader like Mr Singh to make such
statements.
Another ex-Arjun disciple, Mr Ajit Jogi castigated him for his
=93totally wrong and untrue=94 remarks on decision-making. Mr Jogi also
said, =93Loyalty is not something to be propagated ... It is inherent
and there is no need to shout about from the rooftop.=94
Another CWC member, Mr RK Dhawan was more forthright in slamming Mr
Arjun Singh. Rejecting Mr Singh=92s remarks at his book release function
that the =93evaluation of loyalty=94 is now carried out by the high
command in a =93limited context=94, Mr Dhawan said loyalty should be
judged by the deeds of the claimant and not words.
