A 17-year-old Iraqi girl was murdered by her father in an honour killing
after falling in love with a British soldier she met while working on an
aid
programme in Basra, it has been claimed.

MOSUL, Iraq (Reuters) - Gunmen shot dead an Iraqi reporter on Sunday after
pulling her out of a car in northern Mosul, a notoriously violent city
where
journalists are often targeted and live in fear of their life.
Police said Serwa Abdul-Wahab, in her mid-30s, was on her way to work when
gunmen forced her from her taxi in eastern Mosul, 240 miles north of
Baghdad, and shot her once in the head.

When a Hamtramck district court judge told Ginnah Muhammad she couldn't
testify in a 2006 small claims lawsuit unless she removed her veil, she
was
willing to lose the case for a religious principle.
But when she showed up Tuesday at the federal courthouse in Detroit to
appear in a religious discrimination lawsuit against the Hamtramck judge,

A Jordanian court has sentenced a man to six months in jail after
convicting
him of the honor killing of his 16-year-old daughter.
The court ruled Wednesday that the man killed his married daughter because
she had an affair out of the wedlock. The enraged father severely beat her
with a baton and ultimately electrocuted her in November 2006.

falling in love with a British soldier will not face charges.
Rand Abdel-Qader, 17, had grown close to a blond infantryman known only as
Paul in Basra. When her father Ali Abdel-Qader found out, he went berserk,
beating her and stamping on her throat in an "honour killing".
