Bears suffer enough from the depradations of
humankind. =A0 I fail to anything at all funny at
the idea of kicking one of these magnificant
creatures into an "ice hole." =A0 You know who
I would kick to "kick into an ice-hole"? =A0 The
damnable creep out here in Southern
California who -- because his house was
being foreclosed -- simply moved out, locked
up, walked away and left his dog shut up in a
room without food to suffer. =A0 =A0Let's start
respecting the dignity of our animal friends.
They have been kicked enough.

I might add that while I try to avoid politics
in my posts, and while we still don't know
who will be running for president, there is
much good to be said for Senator McCain
as a possible president. =A0 =A0 Yes, Mr. Obama
impresses me as an outstanding person
of many admirable qualities. =A0 But I wonder --
will he have what it takes the first time some
vicious tyrant decides to test his mettle by
trying to bully the United States? =A0 That gets
into the reason I believe there is actually a far
greater chance of additional warfare under Hillary
or Obama than under McCain. =A0 Nobody is going
to try to push the U. S. =A0around under McCain,
because they know better. =A0 =A0Under either
of the two democrats, it is not hard to
imagine that some undemocratic government
will think they are pushovers, and become
very aggressive. =A0 If that happens, Hillary
or Obama might rush to war to avoid being
impeached =A0-- =A0 because Americans are not
going to let the U. S. be pushed very far.
Few if any intelligent people doubt that
McCain has the backbone needed for
standing up -- and for many voters (myself
included) that is the number one consideration
right now, the state of the planet being what it is,
with the Taliban coming back strong in Afghanistan
and all sorts of disturbing things taking place.
When bullies know with absoulute certainty
that someone will stand up against them, they
are far less likely to attempt aggression.

It was like that incident where the Iranians took
the British military personnel hostage. =A0 That
caused Britain humiliation, while -- at least
to the gullible of the world -- made the Iranians
look like humanitarians (for "generously" freeing
the very people they kidnapped in the first place!).
It was simply a bald-faced, vicious =A0attempt to bully
Great Britain, and -- sadly -- the Iranians got away
with it.). =A0I don't think that would be allowed to
happen =A0to U. =A0S. citizens on McCain's watch.
With either of the two dems, I am not so confidant.
