LTTE attempts to create a communal "holocaust"
The LTTE raises funds internationally saying that they are waging a
'freedom war', but continues with brutal murder of women, children and
innocent civilians, indiscriminately. This toddler who received serious
injuries in yesterday's Tiger bomb explosion in Dambulla is under
treatment at the Dambulla base hospital. What offence has this child of
God has committed to be punished in this gruesome manner?

Sri Lankan citizens responded well with responsibility and admire
following yesterday's bomb attack ripping a public trans****t bus at
Dambulla, killing 18 pilgrims to Anuradhapura and injuring around 80
others. Many people rushed to near by hospitals around the country to
donate blood voluntarily to the needed, re****ts state.
Sri Lankans gave a similar admirable example following the large scale
disaster when the small island nation was hit by the "Tsunami" tidal
waves in 2004, killing over 35,000 people. Despite large scale
humanitarian aid and donations flowing into the island, Sri Lankan
citizens rallied together providing much needed medical, sanitary and
dry rations to the affected and indeed displayed humanity at its best.
In yesterday's horror attack, among the innocents killed many were
women. Two toddlers also suffered serious injuries in the tragic
incident. The citizens led by example refrained from breaching laws, a
much prudent cause in other contexts in the surge of calamity which we
lacked in 1983 under the UNP regime.
The LTTE lead by a psycho-pathetic is seeking to provoke the kind of
communal holocaust that Sri Lanka witnessed in July 1983 and the people
must ensure that they are not manipulated into mindlessly attacking
innocent Tamils living in peace in their midst.
In an interesting editorial today the "The Island" state, "We believe
that the Lankan people today know better than to repeat a July 1983. But
the Tigers will continue to try and provoke a communal backlash from
events such as those at Kebethigollewa and Dambulla and it is essential
that we do not walk into such a trap with our eyes wide open".
