It's not the case everywhere though. In Prague it's impossible to get a
bad
beer*, as far as I can tell. (Though I didn't go into any Irish pubs).
That's even in the most unlikely settings, such as the KMart canteen or
the
National Museum. They serve up the stuff that's on sale in Superquinn at
?3.50 a bottle for next to nothing. (That's a few years ago now and I
assume
the price has gone up).
The problem in Ireland is that it's very, very difficult to get anything
apart from the standard mass-produced stuff in pubs. There's the odd
exception like The ****ter House. The Irish beer drinker seems to value
predicability above all else.
