You are right there are laws which are laws throughout the UK but there 
isn't a single code of law called British Law. There are various law
systems 
based on two main codes of law. The law in England, Wales and Northern 
Ireland is based on what is commonly known as English Law whilst in
Scotland 
it is based on Scots Law.

I am just pointing out that when people go on newsnet and talk about the 
British nation or British Law then they have to be clear as to what they 
mean exactly. The threat to the integrity of the UK (and whether the
threat 
is a good or bad thing depends on the individual) and the idea of a
British 
Nation comes not from immigration but from the relation****p between
Scotland 
and England. Whether Sikhs can wear their turbans or not is a bit of a
minor 
issue.
