2 Tamil youths abducted in Puththa'lam
Two Tamil youths Subramaniam Sathiyakumar, 27, and Govindan Nagarajah,
27, were abducted by unidentified armed persons from their houses in
Karadipooval village in Puththalam-Vannaathivillu police division
Thursday night around 9 p.m., media re****ts said.
According to complaints lodged with the Vannaathivillu Police by their
relatives, armed persons arrived in a vehicle had forcibly entered
their houses and took these youths with them.
Two Tamil civilians abducted in Kotahena
Unidentified men operating in a white van abducted two civilians along
New Chetty Street, Kotahena (Koddaagncheanai), Colombo Friday noon in
front of Our Lady of Sorrow church, the relatives of the abducted men
told Kotahena police.
The victims abducted from a heavily crowded area are both family men
and are from Jaffna.
One of the victims has been identified as Emmanuel Anthonythas, 57,
from Koyyaaththoaddam and father of one female child. The other victim
is Raphael Bernard, 47, a father of three children is from Paasaiyoor
and is a fisherman by profession.
Raphael Bernard arrived from Jaffna last month with his son to send
him to a foreign country and was residing in a lodge, his relatives
said.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been made to Sri Lankan Deputy Minister
Rathakrishnan and Mano Ganeshan, the Colombo district parliamentarian
and leader of Western Province People's Front regarding the abduction
