Check Scam Wipes Out Central Texas Woman
(February 7, 2008) - An alert from the Better Business Bureau, after a
Central Texas woman is targeted by an internet scam that cost her
thousands.
The woman wired money to an account in Cambodia, after depositing a
ca****er's check in her account and transferring most of it.
The check turned out to be counterfeit, and as a result, the woman's
bank account was wiped out.
The Better Business Bureau says if it seems too good to be true, it
probably is, and you should re****t such scams to its office
immediately.
