For the upcoming election in July 2008, Funcinpec should stick to its
chosen path of independence, cooperation and the historical experience
of pu****ng colonialism out of Cambodia. It has actively participated
in the national building of different factors of progress in the
country.
1. The rate of economic growth in Cambodia for the last few years has
been of stellar performance and has got attention from investors in
all over the world.
2. Peace and cooperation are motto of the party. Therefore, stability
that the Cambodian people have enjoyed so far is the product of that
mindset that is being engaged by the coalition government of Funcinpec
and CPP.
3. Funcinpec also has undergone change in its structure and
organization. New ideas and fresh inputs are injected so that the
party can continue its principle of collaboration. It has managed to
operate in the dynamics of a political environment which requires fast
transformation, conversion and bridge between diverging point of
views.
4. Funcinpec is motivated to pass the anti-corruption laws but it has
to work with its political partner which has some valid and
constructive position. If it has a majority vote, it would be able to
push the law through the legislative body. It hopes to gain more seats
in the next election in order to help serve the Cambodian people in
much more effective way.
