The current exchange of bitter words between SRP and CPP ****fts the
attention of both of them to make the attempt to squeeze Funcinpec,
thus giving Funcinpec some room to maneuver ahead of the election.
Funcinpec should use the gaining ground to sharpen its skills of
collaboration, communication and competence building rather than to
defend itself. Exposure is much more advantageous if it has the
skills, talents and capacities for reasoning. It will also build up
integrity of the party. In a growing democracy, real political
strength does not come from aggressive push. It comes from good
communication and raw power of integrity.
The Sam Rainsy's mentioning of Hor Namhong and Keat Chhon within the
high rank of the Khmer Rouge cadre would have sent powerful ripples
within the Cambodian society as much within the Khmer Rouge Tribunal
and CPP itself. This approach of attack is to confuse the enemy and
take advantage of its weaknesses.
But CPP does not assume weaknesses. It's brutal, self-righteous and
dictatorial. Therefore, the attack may backfire on SRP itself, thus
weakening its political structure further in relation****p to other
parties in Cambodia.
Funcinpec should continue rebuilding itself. That's the best approach
for the time being.
