China donates 600,000 USD for de-mining operation in eastern

China has donated 600,000 U.S. dollars for Cambodia to clean the mines
and unexploded ordnances (UXO) along National Road No. 7 from Kratie
province to Stung Treng province in the country's eastern part
bordering Laos, said government official here on Tuesday.
"The finance has helped the people avoid risking their lives," said
Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Trans****tation, while
attending the inauguration ceremony of the national road.
The de-mining work was also an necessity for the safe construction of
the road, which now links Cambodia and Laos, he said.
The road can help improve the people's living conditions and expand
the tourism areas in the eastern provinces, where much natural view of
forestry, mountain range, lakes, waterfalls and tribal culture can be
seen, he added.
National Road No. 7 runs 186.648 kilometers and is connected with
National Road N. 13 of Laos.
The inauguration of National Road No. 7 is widely believed to be able
to perfect the Asian road network and strengthen the economic
relation****p and development of the regional countries.
