Indo-China Countries Work To Boost Civil Aviation
HANOI, May 7 Asia Pulse - The 10th Meeting of Directors General of
Civil Aviation of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) opened in
Hanoi on May 6 to seek ways to promote sub-regional civil aviation
cooperation.
During the three-day event, participants will review the CLMV's
operations and framework for cooperation over the past decade, update
the sub-regions long-term action plan, and discuss measures to beef up
cooperation in aviation transport, security and safety, flight
management and human resource development.
Since its inception on January 14, 1998, the CLMV has become a model
in the region and praised by the international aviation community.
It has created an equal space for airlines in the region to compete
fairly and gradually explore the regional and global market.
The event saw the attendance of Vietnamese Minister of Transport Ho
Nghia Dung and representatives from the International Civil Aviation
Organisation (ICAO) Office in the Pacific Asia, CLMV countries and
Thailand.
