Cuban Scientists Recall Finding the Remains of Che Guevara

Cuban specialists recalled the convincing scientific elements that were
used to identify, without margin of error, the remains of Che

The finding of the remains of Ernesto "Che" Guevara and his guerrilla
comrades is considered to be one of the greatest moments of Cuban
science and a sincere tribute to these immortal heroes, said Ismael
Clark, president of the Academy of Science of Cuba.

During the final day of the Scientific Workshop organized by this
institution in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the historic
discovery, Clark described the elements as "convincing" before around
200 Cuban and foreign specialists, re****ted ANC.

He pointed out the methodological rigor used in each work phase and the
meticulous execution of each and every task.

Clark said that the searching, finding and identifying the remains of
Che and his guerrilla comrades is considered to be the result of the
strong moral motivation of the team, who with speed and efficiency
brilliantly overcame all obstacles.

The human characteristics of the researchers and technicians are
essential components of the Cuban experience about the development and
social use of science, in a country that despite having limited
economic resources stands out by the ethics of its scientific community.

The president of the Academy of Science of Cuba said that the searching
and finding of the remains, which took place from 1995 to 1997, was
carried out without any economic motivation becoming an example of the
interdisciplinary work, moral motivation and ethical commitment of
their protagonists.

The Academy of Science of Cuba recognized the work done by all the
people who in one way or another participated in this scientific deed
that consolidates, ten years later, the high value of science and
socialism.

Commander Ramiro Vald(c)s presented a diploma of recognition to Dr. Jorge
Gonz!lez, who led that im****tant mission, and other four experts.

During the meeting, several Cuban specialists recalled the convincing
scientific elements such as DNA tests and dental match that allow
finding and identifying the remains of Che and his struggle comrades in
Bolivia.
