Most Paraguayans Disapprove of Duarte

Asuncion, Dec 7 (Prensa Latina) A week before the governing Paraguayan
party chooses its next presidential candidate, President Nicanor Duarte
earned a 60 percent disapproval rating from Paraguayans, with 70
percent of capital residents disapproving.

The poll by international Equipos Mori for Ultima Hora daily was
compared by the newspaper to the president's 57 percent approval in his
first year in office.

Duarte will remain in office until August 15, following the April
elections for which first time challenger, former bishop Fernando Lugo,
has united the opposition to take on the longtime governing Colorado
Party and leads the polls.
