International Course on Corruption Prevention Held in Havana
Havana, Dec 14 (acn) Representatives of several Latin American
countries are attending a course in Havana to learn about the Cuban
experience in auditing and preventing corruption.
Delegates from Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama and
Venezuela visited the National Hotel where they were received by its
general manager Antonio Martinez and its direction board, who explained
how internal control legislation and prevention plans are observed in
the institution.
Likewise, some of the participants in the course, which was organized
by Cuba's Audit and Control Ministry (MAC), appreciated the broad
information received and congratulated the staff of the National Hotel
for their work in defense of moral values, the sincerity when putting
forward the problems, and also for the human capital and the open
op****tunities for young people.
The National Hotel has an annual income of some 20 million dollars,
with around 600 workers. The quality of its services makes it a model
for Cuban tourism.
The course that started Monday Dec 10 to conclude this Friday is part
of MAC's training program. Havana was selected as its venue by the
Regional Training Committee of the Latin American and Caribbean
Superior Oversight Entity.
