Code Pink Wants Posada on FBI Most-Wanted Terrorist List

Washington, Jan 10 (Prensa Latina) The CODEPINK women's organization
for peace and justice will demand for three days that the Bush
government include Luis Posada Carriles on the Federal Bureau of
Investigations (FBI)'s list of most-wanted terrorists.

According to Medea Benjamin, co-director of the group, the entity will
also request the extradition of the criminal to Venezuela, whose
justice demands him for the explosion in mid air of a Cubana de
Aviacion airplane in 1976 that killed 73 passengers.

The request will be part of the "Most Wanted" campaign to be fostered
from Saturday by CODEPINK, one of the most opposed organizations to the
invasion of Iraq and the so-called war against terrorism announced by
Bush.

"It is inexplicable that the government was in pursuit of terrorists
hidden thousand miles from United States, when the country has one of
the most infamous terrorists living freely in Miami," Benjamin stated.

CODEPINK considers that the advertising campaign implemented by the FBI
in 20 US cities to identify criminals and terrorists, lacks of the name
of Posada Carriles, released by this country's justice despite an
extensive criminal file.

The organization's campaign to be run until Monday includes collecting
signatures among Miami residents, a vigil on Sunday in a place yet to
be defined, a news conference in front of the FBI building, and a
protest in front of the offices of representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

CODEPINK is made up of about 150,000 people, organized in over 250
groups in US cities and other countries.

Posada Carriles was freed on April 19, 2007, after Judge Katherine
Cardone decided his release, supported by a corporative bail of
$250.000.

Among his terrorist actions is the Bay of Pigs invasion, the
Iran-Contras case, the bombing in the 455 Cubana de Aviacion flight,
attacks on Havana tourist resorts in 1997, and even, according to some
spying theories, the murder of President John F. Kennedy.
