Two John Camerons, Gaelic bards, from Ballachulish/Glencoe

by Alasdair <mail@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 8, 2008 at 08:04 PM

I believe there were two Gaelic bards called John Cameron from the
Ballachulish/Glencoe district of Scotland. One is famous for his song
"Chi Mi Na Morbheanna" and the other is known for his song "Gleann
Baile Chaoil".  I have data on the author of "Chi Mi Na Morbheanna";
he was referred to as Iain Og Rob and died unmarried in November 1898
at the age of 76.

I have no data on the author of "Gleann Baile Chaoil" and would
appreciate any information on this bard who seems to belong to a much
later generation than the former.
