A long time ago I had already decided never to buy China origin
frozen dumplings or any of such snacks from the grocery store. The
principle is it contains raw or cooked meat that is frozen in a
plastic pack. To maintain shelf life there are preservatives, usually
lots of salt and very likely borax. Then there is MSG. The meat
itself is of suspect quality, that is it is not from prime cuts and
often from inferior animals such as old sows and boars past their
breeding age. Should there be a problem with freezing the yeast and
microorganisms in the flour and in the meat bloom immediately in that
rich medium. There are far too many risks already in the regular
product without having to worry about insecticide contamination. [How
did insecticide get into the process in the first place?] If you like
dumplings get fresh ones made and cooked in your local Chinese
restaurant. Frozen im****ted dumplings is one product best avoided.
