I was not touting democracy to the Chinese people, but rather noting
that there is interest in democracy among the younger generation of
Chinese, seemingly moreso than among the older generation.

Obviously Taiwan and China are very different cases and the evolution
of democracy in China will probably happen very differently. But as
the only real democracy currently existing in "Greater China" the
Taiwanese model is certain something that young Chinese are
noticing.

This isn't about American democracy, it's about how the next
generation of Chinese perceive and feel about democracy and what it
might mean for China.

But I didn't understand that bit about why I don't run for US
president...
