A Call for Eyewitness Accounts From Tibet

As a week of mounting protests and tensions between Tibetan Buddhist
monks and the Chinese government¡¯s security forces has erupted into
violence and chaos on the streets of Lhasa, the Tibetan capital,
NYTimes.com is asking readers in Tibet to help us re****t on events there
by sending us eyewitness accounts in photographs, video or text.

To submit a picture, please send it by e-mail to the following address:
world.nyt@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 ¡ª and let us know when and where the photograph was
taken and what it depicts. Please also include your name; if you do not
want to be identified online or in print, let us know that as well. By
sending us your digital photographs, you are agreeing to their use by
The New York Times.

To submit written descriptions of events, please use the comments field
at the foot of this page.

To submit video, follow these instructions:

We are using system called Brightcove to manage reader video submissions
and post them on our site. Following are Brightcove¡¯s technical
specifications for video submissions:

    * Brightcove accepts video in these formats: .3GP, .AVI, .DV, h.264,
..MPEG2, .MPEG4, Quicktime, .WMV.

    * You should be running one of these operating systems: Windows:
WinXP, WinXP SP2, Win2000. Mac: MacOSx 10.2 and later. Windows browsers:
IE 6, IE 7, Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2.0. Mac browsers: Safari, IE, Firefox.

    * The maximum upload size is 100 MB, which is approximately two to
three minutes in length.

When you are ready to submit a video, fill out the simple form below and
you will be prompted step by step through the process of uploading your
video. If you do not see a form below, click here. We are looking
forward to seeing your submissions.
