Tibet: One world, one dream?

China's slogan for the Olympic Games ....

Clearly, does not sit well at all with the Tibetan monks. It
appears that the ultimate nightmare of China's ruling elites
is fast becoming a reality: A repeat of the TAM saga, in the
world stage under the full glare of the world press. Lhasa's
riot, not Beijing's NPC plenary meeting captured the attent-
ion of the world.

President Hu and his hand picked successor, were approved.

It's the hight of irony, perhaps befitting, that Lhasa.s riot
marked the ascension of, in the eyes of Tibetans the ruthless
destroyer of their culture and way of life.

The enchanting capital of the Himalayan plateau and spiritual
mecca of the world, is now in locked down mode. News and com-
munication channels were shutdown. Curfew was imposed by army
and police. Protesters were given the ultimatum: surrender by
midnight Monday, or, face the full wraths of PRC's machinery.
EU, USA and His Holiness, the Dali Lama, urged peace and calm
and respect for Tibet's culture. Needless to say, all Olympic
sponsors are anxiously watching with a weary eye.

Over their investments and potential PR nightmares ....
