Photos

1/7 Violent protests erupted in a market area of Lhasa, the Tibetan
capital, as Buddhist monks and other ethnic Tibetans clashed with
Chinese security forces.

3/7 Tibetans threw stones at army vehicles as a car burned on a
street in the Tibetan capital, Lhasa, after violent protests broke out
on Friday.

[PPP: both captions are outright lies as the events depicted in the
pictures are photo grabs from a video taken in Dehra, India. see URL
below for proof]

2/7 Buddhist monks marched in Xiahe, Gansu Province, on Friday.

[PPP: This photo is cropped to give an impression of a large
demonstration. But it is probably all the monks and demonstrators
there are. Only two lines of police man the barrier, backed by their
vehicles. It's a very small force. The sidewalk on the left is not
blocked and the people there have lost interest in the demonstration
(backs to the demonstrators and eyes looking elsewhere). The Monks
and other are just milling around with no obvious attempt to challenge
the police barrier. No riots.]

[PPP: This photo below is more interesting.

A riot police formation with ****elds locked. The photo identifies it
as in Lhasa. But the scene looks more like a typical older Chinatown
with ugly buildings from the 50s-60s era. All the banners are in
Chinese. There is nothing Tibetan looking. I don't see any obvious
shop fronts but there is a roll door loading bay on the right. A back
alley?, No, too wide. Typical Chinatown.

The picture looks posed for the camera. There is a small pile of
rocks infront of the police barrier. Look at their highly polished
(?) plexiglass ****elds. No dust, no scruff marks, no spatter, no sign
of rocks hit combat usage. No reflection with images of demonstrators
who should be within rock throwing distance. In the front row of
****elds, just slightly to the right of the middle, is a single ****eld
with a reflection of a uniformed man wearing a peaked military hat.
He looks like a police commander inspecting his squad's "****elds
locked" formation. Yep. Its posed although I can't figure out why
the Chinese authorities would release such a photo at this time.]

Reuters
Chinese security forces in Lhasa, Tibet, took cover during a fifth day
of protests. The banner overhead reads, "Strengthen public safety
management, safeguard political stability." Beijing is facing the most
serious demonstrations in Tibet since the 1980s. More Photos >

[PPP: Yeah like they even had the proper motivational banners
prepared in place to caption the posed photo.]
