Perhaps. But the real first punch came back in 1954. All kinds of non-
violent things are forbidden under the Communist dictator****p which
has been there for so long. But China needs the metals in the hills of
Tibet - for industries for its people, and for tanks and planes and
guns to threaten peaceful Taiwan. I have no sympathy for dictatorial
regimes. If China were free like Taiwan, maybe one could speak of
Tibetans seeking independence as just hotheaded troublemakers. But it
is not.
When the fifty years of 'one country, two systems' run out, will China
decide that a Cultural Revolution is needed in Hong Kong, to make sure
everyone is frightened of the secret police? After all, if they can
make money from Shanghai and other parts under full Communist rule,
why would they need to let the people of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region have freedom any longer?
