Practically all Olympics s****ts are good only for one try for a
placing and the next try for the medal. Miss one or the other and
one's Olympics run is over before it begins. No Olympic level
athelete is going to throw away more than a decade of grueling effort
and sacrifice for something so quixotic as Tibet Independence or yak
butter.
