The Beijing Olympic Games are under the auspices of the Tibet protests? Read on . . .

Here's the start of a story (to protect the possibly innocent I've omitted
its byline) dated "15:40, March 18th 2008" at

Boycott Proposals For The Olympic Games Emerge

The Beijing Olympic Games are under the auspices of the Tibet protests,
and
although not directly linked to s****t, it is linked to China, which urged
many freedom-of-speech advocates to ask officials in participant countries
to
boycott the opening ceremony that is set to take place at Beijing, a
Tuesdayıs announcement said.

* The Beijing Olympic Games are under the auspices of the Tibet protests?

* It is linked to China? What is "it"?

* China urged many freedom-of-speech advocates to ask officials in
participant countries to boycott the opening ceremony?

* A Tuesdayıs announcement?

What the flux is going on? I wonder whether someone will help me by
translating into universal English every clause (yes, it does at least
contain clauses) of that cryptic procession of words.
