More than half of Americans say they tend not to trust the media, a
U.S. poll indicates.
A Harris Interactive poll found that just 30 percent of Americans
trust the media, with respondents saying they trust radio more than
television or the Internet.
Forty-four percent of respondents said they trusted radio, while 36
percent said they trust television, and 41 percent said they trust
Internet news sites.
The poll of 2,302 U.S. adults was taken online Jan. 15-22. No margin
of error was re****ted.
The poll found that 70 percent of respondents said they go to local
television for political news, while two-thirds said they tune into to
cable news stations like CNN, MSNBC or FOX, either all the time or
occasionally.
Two-thirds of respondents said they also go to their local newspapers
for news on politics all the time or occasionally, while 64 percent
turn to the network television news.
