The Westerners today are a rotten generation which cannot be trusted
to be fair and just in dealing with world's problems. Look at the way
they handle the current financial crisis which they help created.
Their media don't even refer to it as a crisis. In the case of Asia in
1997, it was very early called a crisis. The advice from IMF was "
there should be no government intervention, leave it to market
forces, do not distort the market". As a result, huge projects had to
be abandoned, financial institutions had to be closed, whole
government collapsed and whole nation turned into chaos as in the case
of Indonesia. Now, when it comes to their turn, federal, international
and global institutions are roped in to help. Market forces be damned.
This whole problem arises out of their rotten sense of values. This
generation of Westerners believe in living only for today. Eat, drink
and be merry, for tomorrow may never come. They don't believe in
savings. They live on debts without any sense of guilty. Now they
will believe more so. "The government will bail us all out. The whole
world will come to our assistance. There is nothing to worry about."
With this kind of mentality, whatever regulations that are put in
place will wear out after sometimes. And the next crisis will be worse
than this one.
