Your question is ignoring the time difference of nearly 60 years. Did
the world remain static for the last 60 years?

If  the Chinese in 2008 should not enjoy human rights like most people
in the world, why Chinese government had signed several UN agreements
regarding human rights, yet delayed the approval of these agreements
for more than 10 years.

Did Chinese drive private cars 20 years ago?

Why Chinese government are still killing the Tibetans in 2008,  just
like it had killed thousands of Chinese in Beijing during 1989?
