Perhaps you don't know much about the history of tibet and the west.
Try this book VIRTUAL TIBET out. It "takes us beyond the fantasies to
the reality of an isolated region that has repeatedly won the West's
admoration, and paid the price for believing that our allegiance is
profound." (From the backcover of hte book) Western countries and
westerners are just using Tibet.
