One World, One Dream!
You are invited to join our event "Celebrating the Beijing 2008
Olympic Games in Ohio" to celebrate the Olympic Spirit with us on The
Ohio State University (OSU) campus and in Downtown Columbus. (Event

International Affairs will hold a Celebration Series for the Beijing
2008 Olympic Games on OSU campus and downtown Columbus from Friday,
April 18th to Saturday, April 26th.
The celebration starts with a grand opening from 12:00 to 12:30pm on
Friday, April 18th in front of Ohio State House. The closing ceremony,
Chinese Culture Festival, will be held from 3:00pm to 9:00pm on April
26th, 2008 at OSU RPAC Outdoor Plaza Deck. Please click the

The motto "One World One Dream" for the first ever Olympic Games in
China expresses the common wishes of people all over the world,
inspired by the Olympic ideals, to strive for a bright future of
Mankind. We believe that having an Olympic festival here at OSU will
not only bring the Olympic spirit to Ohioans but also improve the
understanding and expand communications among people from different
countries.
More and more Chinese come to the States as visitors, students or
workers and more and more Americans go to China for traveling,
working, education and charity activities. However, for many students
and residents here at Ohio, they may not know much about Chinese
culture, history and especially the new China. We believe that the
Beijing Olympics Celebration, as the biggest one CSSS ever holds, will
be an excellent op****tunity for people to renew their knowledge about
China and reach out to the Chinese culture and people.
Here is the schedule of the whole celebration:
"The Grand Opening"
Time: 12:00-12:30 pm on Friday, April 18th
Location: Ohio State House downtown Columbus
Description: Taichi, Cheer Square and Yangge (Dance of spring sprout)
"Olympic-Beijing" Chinese Culture Festival - Closing Ceremony
Time: 3:00 - 9:00pm on Saturday, April 26th
Location: OSU RPAC Outdoor Plaza Deck
Description: big booth-exhibition of three parts: traditional China,
current China and Olympics, three stage shows including martial arts,
Chinese traditional operas and combination shows.
"Olympic Impression in China" Photo Exhibition
Time: April 21st -May 5th
Location: OSU Oxley Hall, RPAC, Hagerty Hall
Description: Hundreds of photos about Olympics, culture and nature
will be displayed.
Chinese Traditional Dancing Show
Time: 7-9PM April 20th
Location: Weigal Hall, OSU campus
Description: Chinese dance show by OSU China Oriental Fork Dance Team
Ohio Chinese Soccer Tournament
Time: April 26th
Location: OSU Jesse Owens West Park South Field #1 and #2
1031 Carmack Rd Columbus, OH 43210
Description: Six teams from Ohio and nearby states will compete for
the champion****p.
