Chinese youths everywhere in China, from Beining to Xinjiang, who
wore Levis jeans, eat at Mac Donal, drank coke, watched Hollywood
movies and surfed the internet.... used to idolise things American.
Over 2 millions internet users regularly download US pop songs and
movies and post messages in sup****t of the Western and American
ideals.
From March 6, things suddenly changed.
Overnight, millions and millions of anti-USA, Anti- French messages
appeared on the Chinese internet, and in SMS messages.....condemning
the protestors for burning the Chinese Flag, and for attacking a
female torch bearer on wheel chair. ... condemning the US and French
governments.
As days go by, their passion against the USA and France escalated in
China....Peaceful demos and protests were seen in cities across
China ...in front of Carrefour stores and US embassy. The Chinese
government tried to stop the Chinese youth but small scale protests
continued.
This unity among Chinese youth is unprecedented in the last 30 years.
In the minds of Chinese youths, the USA has shown its true urgly
face....no longer to be trusted as the icon for democracy...but seen
now as a power out to get independence for Tibet ..to take land
belonging to the motherland...and to throw **** in the face all
Chinese by getting other nations to boycot the Beijing game (something
all Chinese are very proud of).
This anti USA and anti French passion has spread to Chinese
communities across the world..to Europe and the USA.
In Los Angeles, up to 5,000 people gathered outside the CNN office in
protest against an racist insult by CNN....and CNN refusal to
apologize sincerely.
In Paris Saturday, up to 4,000 Chinese students and other nationals
gathered in the Place de la Republique Many French also joined the
Paris protest including Joseph, 60, who said he travelled often to
China and that he was "defending the right to the truth."
More than 1,000 people, mainly students, gathered outside the BBC's
offices in Manchester, north-west England, while around 300 staged a
demonstration outside the Houses of Parliament in London.
Several hundred pro-Chinese activists also demonstrated in Berlin's
Potsdamer Platz in the business district
