An enslaved people .....
According to that famed Jewish legend of Passover, was led
to the heaven's door. A few thousand years ago, the Hebrew
prophet, Mosses, hastily leaded the Israelites out of en-
slavement in Egypt, destined for freedom in their promised
land. Casa Tres Palmas was proud to have hosted the joyous
celebration of the happy ending to a sad story.
For millenniums, the story was shared over ritual meals.
Passover is celebrated by Jews all over the world. It is a
story of the triumph of the human spirit over darkness and
evil. An occasion, when very im****tant elements of a proud
tradition and brilliant heritage, are passed from generat-
ion to generation.
The celebration, is a seven, or eight, day festival. Every
evening the Seder service is performed, in which the story
of the Israelites are recounted. The Seder meal, is highly
rich in rituals and symbols. A netter inquired about items
on a traditional Seder plate. According to custom, it must
have six items - Maror, Chazeret, Karpas, Charoset, Z'roa,
and Beitzah.
They are symbols of aspects of Jewish live in enslavement,
and the dramatic hasty nature of the Israelites' departure
from Egypt. The overarching themes of a Seder service are:
gratitude for God, bitterness of enslavement, sweetness of
freedom, and, lessons learned.
All in all, an admirable, introspective culture ....
