Why only Lamas are protesting?

I have been watching CNN, BBC and other Western
broadcast on Tibetian protest over China, and have
notice that the only Tibetian protest come from
the Lamas and monks, I wonder why until I come
accross the following Youtube

any western protesters should see before the next protest.
