In early April when the Demonstration against The Olympic Torch Rally
in San Francisco took place, El Chino asked a rhetorical question =93
WOULD EL CHINO SUP****T ANTICHINESE DEMONSTRATION AT THE OLYMPIC TORCH
RUNNING CEREMONY in SAN FRANCISCO ?
El Chino replyed He Would as An American by Choice of Vietnamese
Ancestry but He would not if He were a Chinese American or a Chinaman.
The Reason El Chino invoked, in-spite-of its obvious moral
imperfection, was Right Or Wrong, China is the country of birth of
these Chinese and it has not done so badly in the last 30 years
jumping from a Totalitarian Country with GDP less than that of
Australia to a Super economic Power with GDP second only to the USA=92s
and Japan=92s . Further with an armed forces second only to that of
the USA and Russia in nuclear weapons but second to none in non-
nuclear weaponry and capability, i.e., It is a full fledge
Superpower. If I were a Chinese or a Chinese American I would not
forget the horrendous crimes committed by the CCP during the Great
leap Forward Revolution of the 1950s and the Great Cultural Revolution
killing up to 50 millions people but I would not disturb the most
im****tant symbol of Chinese Achievements by disrupting the Torch
Rally.
As a Vietnamese American, I certainly would participate in the
Demonstration against the Torch Rally if I were in San Francisco
during the Ceremony. In fact I had participated in a pro Freedom
Demonstration for Tibet in Wa****ngton DC at Freedom Plaza in Early

An even more relevant question was : Would El Chino participate in the
Anti Olympic Torch Rally on the 29th of April, 2008 which is
essentially an anti Chinese Rally if I were in Saigon or Hanoi. I
most certainly would not.
This is not a morally correct decision but moral, according to the
Hierarchy of Needs ranked much below National Survival. Either as an
Vietnamese American or a native Vietnamese, I would not like to
provoke the Chinese by turning A low key Torch Rally into a riot in
which the Anti Chinese Demonstration would be very easily and
completely suppressed by the Cong An who outnumbered the potential
demonstrators by at least 50 to 1 . This would not please The
Chinese who had already lost face in the Riots plagued Olympic Torch
Rallies in Paris, San Francisco, Australia, Indonesia, India. Only
In North Korea that, as expected , nothing happen. In Vietnam, while
the Cong An=92 far outnumbered the potential demonstrators, they did not
have to use force because the demonstrators were few in number and
badly organized. This would enhance the respect and Confidence of the
CCP for their Comrades in the VCP. It would enhance the respect of
the Foreign Investors in the law and order environment of Vietnam
which is propitious to investment. Last but not least, it would
enhance the respect of the Vietnamese People for the VCP.
